Mrs White(英語里有些表明顏色的詞象black，white, brown, green, grey都是常見的姓。用作姓時和其他的姓和名一樣，第一個字母要大寫。)

a)以個位計

c)以百位計

d)以于位計

以上和中國的計數法差不多，但是數到“萬”就不同了。英語里沒有單獨的詞表明“萬”，而是說“十千”。“兩萬”的英語是“二十千”，twenty thousand。
e)在hundred和后面的數字之間，在thousand或m進ion和后面的“百”以下的數字之間，澳大利亞英語和英國英語里都要加個and。

順便提一下，如果有年份，漢語把年份放在前面，而英語則把年份放在后面。
b)幾個重大的節日
(注意所用序數的縮寫形式)

*圣誕節，是基督教徒紀念耶穌基督誕生的節日。
c)年份的寫法和讀法
1983 十位數19實際上是以hundred為單位，也就是公元一千九百年;83表明具體年份。
你會說以下的年份嗎?請練習一下。
1983 - nineteen eighty-three
1650 - sixteen fifty
1871 - eighteen seventy-one
還有一種說法：
the sixteen hundreds (the 1600s)=the seventeenth century(17th century).
A 47-year-old man指的是過亍四十七周歲的人。
還有一種說法，說某人in his forties/teens,是說這個人四十幾歲/十幾歲。

IDENTIFICATION用數字標明事物
t)說幾路公共汽車或房間號碼，在100以上的通常是把數字分開說。

-a three eight nine bus(或a three eighty-nine bus)

- Room three eight eight(或Room three eighty-eight)

- Room nine o five
房間號碼在100以下的：
Room 20
- Room twenty
可見說幾路公共汽車和房間號碼同說一般數字不同。此外，可以說a 412 bus,也可以說the 412 bus(用a或the視上下文而定)。但只能說Room 412。
b)電話號碼的讀法如下：
98 7543 - Nine eight seven five four three
713 8174 - Seven one three eight one seven four
如果其中有的數字重疊，可以這樣說：
99 4786 - Double nine four seven eight six
30 7744 - Three o double seven double four
c)在寫地址的時候，漢語是先寫區的名稱，然后是街道名稱，最后是門牌號碼。英語恰好相反，順序是：門牌號碼、街道名稱、區的名稱。例如：
73 Hay Street, Brighton.
d)數字0(零)的各種讀法：
Nought
Zero
O
字母O常用于公共汽車，房間號碼，小數等等。
PRONUNCIATION CORNER
數字以-ty結尾的，重音在第一個音節，例如：thirty, forty。以-teen結尾的，用于強調的位置時，重音在第二個音節，例如：Amanda's thirteen;用于名詞前面時，重音在第一個音節，例如It's thirteen dollars。你聽的時候要很注意，才能聽出thirteen等詞和thirty等詞的區別。
第四部分：歌唱
廣播里可以聽到中國、澳大利亞、美國、法國的國歌，還可以聽到一首簡單的數數歌，一首人們常唱的祝賀生日歌，在John過生日的那一天，Barbara就唱這首歌向他祝賀。
