如何高效的背誦英語單詞

　　第一是聯想法。

　　比如soft是柔軟的意思，你可以聯想到索芙特洗發水，索芙特洗發水洗出的頭發都是柔亮的，它的名字也是這么翻譯過來的，索芙特soft;再比如drunk是喝醉了的意思，那么我們就可以這么想，喝是drink，drink和drunk的區別就在于i和u，i就好像是我們喝之前的肚子，很扁，但是喝多了呢，i就變成了u，肚子鼓起來了，也就喝醉了;還有praise這個詞是夸獎的意思，我們知道raise是提升的意思，那當我們的成績提高了，老師就會表揚我們"prettygood"，所以贊揚是p加raise，praise.

　　第二種記單詞的方法是諧音法。

　　比如pour是傾瀉的意思，pour是“破”的音，我們可以想象，你們家的魚缸有一天因為你玩籃球給砸破了，然后里面連魚帶水都傾瀉出來的場景，那就是pour了;還有scan是掃描、瀏覽的意思，它的音像“四看”一樣，那么四下看看不就是瀏覽的意思么。

　　第三種方法是詞根詞綴法。

　　比如我們知道re-是代表重復的詞根，birth是出生的意思，那么rebirth就是重生的意思;dis-是表示否定的詞根，那么able是能夠，disable就是不能夠的意思，agree是同意，disagree是不同意;還有一些詞綴，比如我們知道的，-er代表人，比如teacher、leader、gardener，除此之外還有很多代表人的詞綴，比如-ant，assistant是助理，servant是仆人。

　　第四種方法是單詞起源法。

　　比如road一詞在英語里泛指“路”時，相當于漢語里的“馬路”。“馬路”可以指供車馬行走的道路，也可以指一般的路。而road的祖先恰好也同“馬”有關。Road在古英語中寫作rad，是從ridan(即"ride"，騎馬)一詞演變來的，rad就是“供騎馬行走的路”，也就是“馬路”。盡管中國的“馬路”上并不一定有馬，英國的"road"上也不一定有騎馬的人，然而我們都這樣習慣地叫下去。再舉一個例子breakfast，fast是“齋戒”、“封齋”的意思，如伊斯蘭教每年有一個月為“齋月”，“把齋”的人在這個月白天一天不進飲食。只是在一早一晚，也就是看不見太陽的時候進餐，齋月滿時為“開齋”，是伊斯蘭教徒十分隆重的節日。Break是“打破”的意思，breakfast原意為breakthefast，即“打破齋戒”或“開齋”。早餐是打破齋戒的第一餐，所以叫breakfast.

　　第五種方法是手舞足蹈法。

　　比如說對于push和pull的記憶，學生總是分不清它們哪個是“拉”哪個是“推”，這時不妨抬起一只胳膊，并做一個推的動作，同時嘴里發出“噗哧”的聲音，這樣以后每當你再讀到push的時候，就都會想到這個推的動作了，這兩個單詞也就去分開了。

　　第六種方法是猜詞法。

　　在閱讀文章的時候，你可以嘗試先根據語境猜一猜，然后再查字典。

　　James is a person who changes his mind easily.詹姆士是個很容易改變主意的人。

　　4. a chip on one's shoulder：好斗

　　Don't provoke someone with a chip on his shoulder.不要激怒一個好斗之人。

　　According to the weather forecaster, it is likely to rain today.根據天氣預報，今天很可能會下雨。

　　混淆短語：according as...：根據……而……

　　I will by this product according as its price is reasonable.如果產品價格合理，我會買下來。

　　6. account for sth.：為……負責

　　The security attendants must account for the safety of the President.保安隨從必須負責總統的安全。

　　7. achieve the goal：達成目標

　　As lont as you don't give up, you will achieve the goal soner or late.只要你不放棄，早晚會達成目標。

　　混淆短語：a great achievement：一個大成就

　　The invention of the mobile phone is a great achievement.手機的發明是一個了不起的成就。

　　8. a couple of：幾個It took her a couple of hours to do the laundry.她好了好幾個小時的時間洗衣服。

　　9. act...on：依照……行事I always act on my parents' advice when I don't know what to do.當我不知如何是好時，總是根據父母的意見行事。

　　10. Adam's apple：喉結The man tried to disguise thimself as a woman, but his Adam's apple revealed his real gender.那個男子企圖將自己喬裝成女人，但是他的喉結暴露了他的真實性別。

　　Whatever you say to him is only adding oil to the fire.無論你跟他說什么都是火上澆油。

　　混淆短語：oil and vinegar：截然不同的東西

　　Men and women are like oil and vinegar.男人和女人就像油和醋。

　　2. add to：加上

　　We probably have to add a washing machine to our yearly shopping list.我們可能得在年度采購清單上加上一臺洗衣機。

　　混淆短語：add up：合計

　　If you add up all the bills, you'll understand why we are unable to make ends meet.如果你把所有的賬單加起來，你就知道我們為什么入不敷出了。

　　3. admit sb's guilt：認罪

　　4. advise sb. against V-ing：勸某人不要做……

　　As your friend, I would like to advise you against wasting time.身為你的朋友，我勸你別浪費時間。

　　混淆短語：advise with sb. on sth.：勸某人商量某事

　　I had advised with my parents on this before I made my decision.在我決定之前，我和父母商量過此事。

　　5. afford to by sth.：買得起某物

　　I'm afraid that we can't afford to buy the car.恐怕我們買不起這輛車。

　　混淆短語：can't afford to waste sth.：浪費不起

　　I'm afraid you can't afford to waste your money on such luxury item.恐怕你沒有足夠的財力浪費在這樣的奢侈品上吧。

　　6. after all：畢竟

　　You'd better not go there in your casual wear.It's a wedding ceremony after all.你最好別穿休閑服去那里，畢竟是婚禮。
