在我幼兒園時，爸媽就開始鼓勵我參加英文演講，我也初生之犢不畏虎，勇于嘗試了，可是，得到的結果竟然是忘詞、發抖、說錯……我在觀眾面前感到非常尷尬難堪，大家也冷漠的`看著怯生生的我。從此，我就開始害怕上臺，也不斷的逃避。
“失敗是成功的墊腳石。”過了不久，一位老師對我這么說，我想了非常久，終于想通了。就在我二年級時，我重新站了起來，在臺上順利的“演完”，也非常的 成功。“第一名——王柏文！”當時我興奮的像發射的火箭一樣，從座位沖到臺上，捧著獎杯，和各分校的校長、主任及評審們拍照，那種感覺是用筆墨難以形容的快樂和光榮。
自從那一次嘗到比賽的勝利滋味，我就開始愛上“英文演講”，之后雖然也有些許失敗，不過，也得到不少獎杯和獎牌。我開始以豁達的心面對一切得失，有時候，我還會鼓勵同學們積極參加演講、演說這類可以在臺上發表，展現自我的活動。
