Memorial Honoring the Victims of the September 11th Attack What is an appropriate memorial to the victims of the September 11th attack? No proper memorial can be created without honest answers to at least two questions: What are the wishes of the friends and families of the victims? What really happened on September 11th? Wishes Disregarded The friends and families of the victims have had to endure one insult after another on top of the murders of September 11th, in the official response to the attack. Officials blocked any real investigation, and destroyed the evidence of the mass murder at Ground Zero over the concerted objections from families, respected figures in the New York City Fire Department, and a variety of other citizens wishing to see the laws against destroying evidence respected. Administration officials ignored pleas from the victims' survivors not to go to war against Afghanistan in their name. The official FEMA report is an insult to intelligent readers, asking them to accept wildly improbable scenarios, and failing to even claim to explain the collapses of either WTC 2 or WTC 7. The failure of officials from the New York City and federal governments to address these failures is disgraceful. The Truth about September 11th Please support the principle of truth, and honor the victims of the September 11th attack by learning and spreading the truth.

The pace of reading, clearly, depends entirely upon the reader. He may read as slowly or as rapidly as he can or wishes to read. If he does not understand something, he may stop and reread it, or go in search of elucidation before continuing. The reader can accelerate his pace when the material is easy or less than interesting, and slow down when it is difficult or absorbing. If what he reads is moving, he can put down the book for a few moments and cope with his emotions without fear of losing anything.

The pace of the television experience cannot be controlled by the viewer; only its beginning and end are within his control as he clicks the knob on and off. He cannot slow down a delightful program or speed up a dreary one. He cannot "turn back" if a word or phrase is not understood. The pro-gram moves inexorably forward, and what is lost or misunderstood remains so. Nor can the television viewer readily transform the material he receives into a form that might suit his particular emotional needs, as he invariably does with material he reads. The images move too quickly.

He cannot use his own imagination to invest the people and events portrayed on televisionwith the personal meanings that would help him understand and resolve relationships and conflicts in his own life~ he is under the power of the imagination of the show's creators. In the television experience the eyes and ears are overwhelmed with the immediacy of sights and sounds. If someone enters the room while one is watching television--a friend, a relative, a child, someone, perhaps, one has not seen for some time--one must continue to watch or one will lose the thread.

The greetings must wait, for the television program will not. A book, of course, can be set aside, with a little regret, perhaps, but with no sense of permanent loss.

Today is a very happy day. I have just watched a rockˊnˊroll music. When it became popular in the late 1950s, accompanied by accompanied by a great variety of energetic dance styles.

The idea was to “ move to the music ” Anyway you felt like moving. Popular dance has become more and more free since that time.

The music emphasized harmony and repeated melodies; the dancing , like the music, was smooth.

People kiss for the simple reason that it feels good. Our lips are full of sensitive nerve endings, which activate sensory areas in the brain. Kissing boosts the levels of neurotransmitter substances such as dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. Dopamine triggers craving and desire, serotonin elevates a person’s mood, and oxytocin is involved in forming emotional attachments.

Besides humans, the only animals that scientists have ever seen kissing are our closest ape relatives, chimpanzees, and bonobos, and even then it is a rare occurrence. So scientist think there must be a better explanation for it.

              Kiss and Tell

Some scientists have theorized that kissing might help us assess a partner’s immune system. When people kiss, they come close enough to sample the scent of each other’s bodies. And that scent may contain clues to immune system compatibility.

Parents with complementary immune systems have children with a stronger ability to resist disease. Children that are better at resisting disease are more likely to survive to have their own children. Evolution will favor those who choose partners with compatible immune systems over those who don’t, even if they don’t even know that they are doing it.

Exchanging saliva may provide other chemical clues to genetic compatibility too. So, kissing really is all about chemistry!

Today, my parents and I went to Luya Mountain for a tour. We came to the Malan grassland, commonly known as huangcaoliang, 60 kilometers southwest of Pianguan county. The altitude is 2118m. It is one of the great subalpine meadows in North China, and it is the base for the emperors to feed and domesticate their horses. It is divided into the front beam and the back beam, which can hold thousands of horses. Houliang is only 2 li away from Luya Mountain of ancient pilufo Taoist field. In ancient times, it was an important part of pilufo Daochang, and it was a golden place for tourism from the source of Fenhe River to the top of Buddha in Luya Mountain. There are ruins of the great wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty on the mountain ridge, and more than 100 Buddhist temples in the Tang and Song Dynasties under the mountain ridge. Unfortunately, they were destroyed in the late Ming Dynasty. When we climbed up to the top of the mountain, we saw a car at the bottom of the mountain creeping slowly like a small insect. It was surrounded by strange peaks, strange rocks, wonderful springs and waterfalls. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. It was unforgettable. We had a good time.

People have different opinions on whether firecrackers should be banned or not.

Some people think that its a good thing to let off firecrackers. To them, letting off firecrackers is a traditional means to celebrate some special days, such as National Day and the Spring Festival. It can add much to the festival atmosphere. If firecrackers were banned, the festivals would become too quite to enjoy. While other people hold that firecrackers should be banned. They list many facts to support their argument. For instance, many big fires are caused by firecrackers. Some children are seriously hurt. Letting off firecrackers also makes much noise and causes air pollution.

As far as I am concerned, firecrackers should be banned. It is true that firecrackers make our festivals more enjoyable, but we can come up with other entertainments. In short, firecrackers should be banned for the benefit of all people.

Spring is tht best season of the year. The weather gets warmer and warmer. My clas i'amates and I took a one-day sightseeing around our city. The scene was pretty. But when we saw the rivers along our city, I felt very sorry, and thoughit a lot.

With the development of modern agriculture and industry, more and more waste water is being poured into rivers. It has caused serious pollution. The river is becoming so dirty that no living things can live in it. The river is giving off a terrible smell.

We make an urgent appeal that measures should be taken to cope with the situation. Our government should start building various facilities such as sewage treatment!plant and encourage scientists to work out more and better ways to reduce the pollution of water.

Water is tho source of our lives. It is very important to protect water.

My classmates and I had an outing this spring. We had a good time. But meanwhile I noticed that water pollution in our city was becoming more and more serious.

On our way, we could see women washing clothes in the river. Litter was floating on the river. Waste water produced by a chemical factory was being discharged into the river. We did not see any fish in the river. The fiver was not so clear as before. Water quality was very bad. I am worried

about it because water is important to all living things. Man can not live without water. I hope people pay more attention to this problem, especially the government. Try to control the pollution of water as early as possible.

At last I would like to say, "To protect water is to protect life."

              Pollution: a Social Problem-

When we read newspapers, we often come across the word pollution. This word was not familiar to the people some decades ago. But now, it is a serious threat to us because.it means the poisoning of the air, seas, rivers and lands, which would do harm to our health.

There are many factories that bring pollution to us. We can not have fresh air in the morning. This is mainly because of the poisonous smoke coming from factories, especially chemical ones. In rivers, seas and oceans, there are industrial wastes. Some factories just throw their wastes into seas or let them flow into rivers. When people drink the water from such rivers, they get poisoned. Besides, there is rubbish from ships and when sometimes an accident occurs in an ocean, oil flows out from tankers.

On land, the accumulation of rubbish in the streets may dirty the city and ruin our health. This is mainly due to the improper disposal of rubbish by people.

If we do mot fight against pollution, surely one day all of us will be killed. Some people like to put the blame on the industrial revolutions. On the contrary, the pollution problem will be solved only with the help of modem science and technology.
