辦公室英語口語謬誤：She Is Expecting

She is expecting.
她懷孕了。

（王小姐和吉娜正看在公司圣誕派對時拍攝的照片。）

Jenny: Barb is doing so well. You know she is expecting in May.
芭比一切都很順利，在五月。

Ms.Wang: What is she expecting?
她究竟在期待什么啊？

Jenny: She told me that she decided not to have it tested. Only God knows.
她說不去檢驗這個項目，這大概只有天知道吧！

（王小姐被弄得更糊涂了！）

【Note】
王小姐不知道“expecting”也有“懷孕”的意思。吉妮也沒有發現這一點，以為王小姐說“在期待什么”是在問“是男孩還是女孩”。“test”是指判斷嬰兒性別的產檢。
