China plans to renovate 2.65 million dilapidated housesfor poor rural households in the central and western regions this year, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) said Monday.
住房和城鄉建設部周一稱，我國計劃今年完成中西部265萬農村貧困戶危房的改造。
在上面的報道中，dilapidated houses就是“危房”，也可以用run-down houses來表示。Run-down意思是“破敗的，失修的”。危房就是破敗失修、隨時可能倒塌的房屋。危房將被改造為energy-efficient housing（節能型住宅）。
此次危房改造的重點對象是poor rural households（農村貧困戶），包括household enjoying the five guarantees（五保戶）、household enjoying the minimum living guarantee（低保戶）、household of impoverished people with disabilities（貧困殘疾人家庭）等。
